Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1300m) and transfer to hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our staff, who will escort you to the hotel, where our Sherpa guide or the office staff will give you a brief orientation about the hotel, Kathmandu itself, trekking, and the do's and don’ts of the area. They will also review any additional information that you might require while in Nepal, including an overview of the next day's sightseeing tour. In the evening, you will enjoy a complimentary welcome dinner at one of the finest traditional Nepalese restaurants in Kathmandu, with the necessary transfer to and from the hotel by taxi, bus. Day 02: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu valley

After your breakfast, you will precede to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will tour the ancient palace, the temple of the Kumari, the living goddess of Nepal, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandav Temple with a guide knowledgeable about Nepalese history, architecture, and religion. From there, you will proceed by taxi, bus to the Buddhist site, Swoyambhunath Stupa, also known as the "Monkey Temple" because of its lively troops of resident monkeys. You will then visit Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest shrine for Hindus, situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, a popular cremation site. Before returning to the hotel, you will visit Boudhnath Stupa, a Buddhist pilgrimage center and home to many colorful gompas, or monasteries. Once back at the hotel, you will receive a briefing about the trek and have a chance to meet your guides and ask any last minute questions before tomorrow morning's departure. Overnight in Hotel

Day 03: Drive to Nyalam (3700m)

Our Tibet overland tour starts with an early morning drive to Kodari, which is in the Nepali boarder post. From Kodari we drive up to the Zhang Mu clearing the Chinese immigration continuing the journey up to beautiful George of Nylam. On the route you will get to enjoy the clear view of the Langtang, Gaurisankar, Melungtse and Khumbu Himal range. Overnight in Guest House

Day 04: Drive to Saga (4280m)

Today we leave Nyalam behind and drive to Pelgu Tso through the Thong La Pass. The road then drops before climbing again to Lalung La Pass. From here we will have an incredible view of Shisha Pangma (8012 M). Again we will drive further to our camping site to Saga, which is a typical Chinese and Tibetan town. This town is the gate away the pilgrims who are visiting Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. Overnight in tented camp

Day 05: Drive to Lake Manasorovar (4560m) via Paryang (4750m)

It’s a 145 Km drive from Saga to Zhongba.The road is fine and the trip will take about 4-5 hours of driving. In Zhongba there is a small monastery at the western end of town. You can stop by and visit the monastery if you wish to. Roads beyond Zhongba are very bumpy and dusty. Though the sceneries are very beautiful and you might want to stop now and then to take a few snaps. Again the drive continues to Lake Manasarovar. The road is very bumpy and dusty. On the way we will pass several rivers and we will pass Mayum La pass too. The scenery is stunningly beautiful with panoramic views of the Himalayas. Upon the arrival of Manasarovar we will spend our night camping at Hor Qu. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 06: Drive to Darchen (4560m)

Darchen is about 30 Km away from our camping site on the north direction. This is the main gate away for the Kailash pilgrims. Here we will arrange yak or ponies for Kailash Circuit trek. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 07: Trek to Diraphuk

The Kailash circuit covers three days of trekking. Its 53 Km long and it’s not an easy route to trek on. This trek will take about 6 hours of hiking and climbing. We will head west in clockwise direction and after few kilometers the trial climbs up to cairn at 4730m, from where Mt. Kailash comes to view. En route we will visit Tarboche, where annual flagpole raising ceremony takes place in Saga Dawa. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 08: Trek to Zutrulphuk

Today we will cross Dolma La pass at the height of 5630 m and frozen Lake of Gouri Kunda at 5608 m. This is the lake where Hindus worship and immerse themselves in icy water of the lake. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 09: Trek to Barga Plain and drive to Lake Manasorovar

It’s the final day of parikrama is an easy 2-3 hours of walk down to where the river emerges on to the Barga plain. Today we will complete the 3 days Kailash circuit and drive to Darcha and then to Lake Manasarovar today. We will be spending the night at Chiu Gompa this day. Chiu Gompa is situated on the edge of rocky cliff overlooking the Lake Manasarovar and Mt. Kailash. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 10: Lake Manasorovar - Rest Day or Self Exploration

This is the day you will rest and explore the Manasarovar area on your own. You can explore the meditation caves in these areas. You can take a bath in the holy water of Manasaovar Lake or can just pass the peaceful hours in the Chiu Gompa. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 11: Drive to Saga

Today we will follow the same road drive from Manasarovar to Saga. As you already know it’s a bumpy ride with fantastic sceneries on the both side of the road. Overnight in Tented Camp

Day 12: Drive to Xigatse

Today we’ll drive to Xigatse with the panoramic scenarios. Overnight in Guest House

Day 13: Drive to Gyantse

After a stroll though the old city we depart for the two and a half hour drive to Gyantse. While approaching the small farming town we can clearly see the old fort that was captured by Young husband during his 1904 raid into Tibet. Here the main attraction is the Kumbum monastery with its extraordinary architecture. Overnight in Guest House

Day 14: Drive to Lhasa

This will be a long drive, but on the way we cross the Karo-la with the beautiful glacier, we see Yamdrok Tso which is named the Turquoise Lake and cross the Kamba-la from where we descend to the main road which bring us all the way to Lhasa. Overnight in Hotel

Day 15: Full day sightseeing in Lhasa

Today, we will go for city for sightseeing of Sera Monastery, one of the most important and old monastery of Tibet, as well a school for Tibetan Buddhism. The Jorkhang Temple is another interesting place to visit as it boasts a lot of historic importance and tales. Conclude the day tour by visiting Bharkor Bazaar and back to hotel for overnight stay. Overnight in hotel

Day 16: Fly back to Kathmandu

Today you will be transferred to airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Once you land in Kathmandu airport, you will be picked up from the airport and drop you to the hotel. Rest of the time will be at leisure. Overnight in Hotel

Day 17: Leisure at Kathmandu

A free day in Kathmandu for individual activities such as explore the Thamel or shopping or relax at the hotel, if you are interested for extensions your days, contact with us and you can join in our extension trip.

Day 03: Fly to Gongar airport and drive to Tsedang (3550m) 01 Hr

Fly from Kathmandu to Gongar Airport near Lhasa, if the weather is clear enough you can have the spectacular view of World’s highest peaks including Mount Everest. Early morning after breakfast you will be transferred from the Hotel to the International Airport a short drive of 20-30 minutes, after the necessary security formalities (keep your pen-knife-lighter matches and other sharp cutting items including scissors in the bigger baggage not in hand bags) board in the large Boeing 757 China Airline for the sweeping panoramic flight to Tibet, on arrival you will be received at the Gongar Airport by our Tibetan Agents. After a great panoramic flight few hours’ drive to the Hotel at Tsedang. Tsedang, is 60 miles / 96 km east of the Gongar Airport, in a region of Southern Tibet known as Lhoka. Due to the relatively low elevation of the Yarlung Valley and which is almost 400 feet 120 meter lower than the Lhasa Valley. This is why we chose Tsedang on the very first day of this Tibet trip which is an ideal location to spend the day and to get acclimatize on this high altitude and getting in shape for the rest of the Tibet tour. On reaching Tsedang transfer to Hotel Tsedang, afternoon free at leisure or walk to the local market. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 04: Drive Samye Monastery and back to Tsedang for sightseeing

After a relaxing easy day at Tsedang, our tour begins after breakfast in the Hotel.Our Tibetan guide will pick you for a short drive to Samye Monastery after an hour drive to the bank of the great river Yarlung Tsangpo (Bhramaputra) here we cross the river on a ferry which takes about twenty minutes on reaching the other side of the shore, we take a truck or whatever vehicle is available for a short ride to the Samye Monastery area. Samye Monastery, this was the first monastery established in Tibet, located on the north bank of Yarlung Tsangpo River, south east of Lhasa. It was constructed by Padmasambhava (Guru Ringboche) and Santarakshita between A.D. 763 and 775 in the reign of King Dristen Detsen. The Samye monastery was modelled on the university of Odantapuri in India and was made on a plan representing the mount Sumeru(Rirab) which is considered the axis of universe. The four pagodas in white, blue, green and red represents the four worlds in the north, south, east and west of the universe. Smaller temples represent the island between the worlds. The main temple is dedicated to Avalokiteshvara (Chenresi). According to a legend, Padmasambhava magically compelled Tibetan demons to collect stones and wood each night for construction by men during day. The Nagas (serpent deities) procured the funds. This famous monastery was the site of a major Buddhist council called "Council of Samye' held there in 792-794, Two learnt teachers, one from India and the other from China participated in the debate. India was represented by Kamlasila and China by Hashang. After the tour of Samye and its ancient Monastery and we drive back to Yarlung-Tsangpo (Bhramaputra River), after crossing this large river on a Ferry run by the motor engine, after 40 minutes of scenic float brings to the bank where our vehicle will be waiting on the Lhasa to Tsedang main highway. From here an hour and a half drive to Tshedang the growing city. Tshedang in the early century use to be the actual capital of the northern Tibetan Kingdom before it was shifted to Lhasa. Once back in the Hotel, time for another afternoon tour of the ancient monastery and Yambu lagang, the palace of Tibet's first king and the oldest building in Tibet. Many of the historical sites and monasteries near Tsedang are now mostly in ruins or have disappeared. Ancient Tibetan legend belief is that near Yarlung Valley, there is one of the four most sacred peaks in Tibet. Near its summit is the cave where the bodhisattva Chenriz, in the form of a monkey-king, mated with an ogress to create the first Tibetan people. The name Tsetang means "Play ground," the place where offspring played. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 05: Drive to Gyantse (3950m) 06 Hrs

Our tour continues with an overland scenic drive towards the City of Gyantse, we will travel for about five to six hours. From Tsedang we drive on the same road to the Aiport for a while, after reaching the bridge, our route continues towrds south.During this day we cross two high passes, including the Khamabala (4,800m) and Karo La (5,200m/17,000ft). At the top of Khamba la pass, which offers stunning scenery of the surrounding landscapes and the snow capped peaks in the distance and as well of the deep turquoise waters of Yamdrok Tsho Lake down below, where our route follows. After a great moment here at the top, drive continues passing through the exquisite lake of Yamdrok Tso, and then reaching to the highest pass of this trip at 5,200 metres. It can be cold here situated in between the massif snow capped peaks, amazing views of the glacier and ice fall of Mt.Nzongkhangsa.7, 206 m. Time for short break or for possible lunch break at this lovely sight, at this place Drok-pa or the nomads dwells, but at present they have made a permenant house and tents on the nice grassy meadow herding yaks and sheeps and selling some semi precious crude stones and quartz to the tourist. From here it is almost downhill ride passing the village of Ralung, and wonderful valley, passing through a series of colourful Tibetan villages, and fianlly coming to Gyantse. Gyantse is another important town, almost a city which was until recently the third largest settlement in Tibet. At Gyantse visit the Kumbum stupa. This was built in the early 15th century and contains thousands of frescoes and overnight at Hotel Gyantse one of the finest Hotel around this town. In Gyantse you have time to visit the Kumbum monastery and its market. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 06: Drive to Shigatse (3900m) 02 Hrs

Our journey continues towards Shigatse the second largest city in Tibet after Lhasa. Today's ride covers 95 kilometers. The road has recently been improved from the bumpy and rutted portion. After leaving the Gyantse The road follows the Nyang Chu River passing through many scattered farm villages and fields, enroute Shigatse we take off from the main highway for a while, to visit the old Shalu Monastery built by the Mongolian Emperor, which is situated in a tributary valley of the Nyang Chhu, about 4 kms south of the Gyantse-Shigatse Highway. The turnoff is a few hundred yards beyond a small village called Tsunde, near the base of a barren ridge. The peaked roofs of Shalu can be seen rising above the flat plain from the highway. The courtyard of Shalu Monastery is a dazzling display of colour amidst the naked reddish brown hills surrounding the valley. The site was established as a religious center in the 11th century, though the main temple in the courtyard, all that remains of the monastic complex, was built in the early 14th century. Tiled peaked roof lines and intricate wood working of Shalu are not typical of Central Tibetan architecture and reflect the strong influence of the Mongol dynasty during that era. After an hour here, our drive takes back on the main highway towards Shigatse, when in Shigatse we visit the very large complex of Tashilumpo monastery. This is the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama and contains a 27m high gold plated Buddha known as Matria (the future Buddha). The hotel in Shigtase is quite large and comfortable. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 07: Drive to Lhasa (3650m)

Today depending upon the time of arrival on Day 06, we may go for a tour at Tashilumpo Monastery this morning before the drive to Lhasa. Our route today takes the west north highway, which is much shorter drive to Lhasa from Shigatse by this route. Journey continues on the good level road and then finally arriving at Lhasa after a good 3-4 hrs drive. At Lhasa we take the comfort in the Lhasa Hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 08: Lhasa city sightseeing

After breakfast early morning we drive for 2 hours to the Gonggar Airport. An hour scenic flight back to Kathmandu over the majestic Himalayan range with the spectacular view of Everest, Makalu and some of its adjoining peaks. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, our staff will transfer you to the Hotel and simply relax at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lhasa (3650m)

Morning transfer to the International airport for your flight to Lhasa, one of the most dramatic and scenic short flights in the world. You’ll be met on arrival at Gongkar airport to begin drive around 45 minutes into Lhasa. After checking in the rest of your day is at leisure to rest and acclimatize. Please note it is important today and the next couple of days to take things easy and not rush around, to get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water to allow your body to acclimatize. If you feel well and want to explore and take a gentle walk locally that’s fine but we don’t plan anything on this first day in order to allow you to rest and acclimatize first. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 04: Lhasa sightseeing

Day 06: Drive to Ganden

Morning drive to Ganden, the journey cover 70 kilometers to the north east outskirt of Lhasa valley and the journey passes through interesting rural villages and farm field and finally reaching at Ganden for the overnight halt. Ganden one of the main monastery of Tibet, founded by the great abbot Tshon Khapa of Gelukpa sect. It was estblished in 1409, Ganden means the joyful. Overnight stay at Tented Camp

Day 07: Full day in Ganden with short hike and Monastery tour

A necessary acclimatization day, this free leisure day for short walk around this great place and visit to the Monastery, half the Monastery area and its building was badly destroyed during the cultural revolution. Ganden monastery situated at an altitude of 4,267m and the founder of Geluk-pa sect and of Ganden Monastery. He lived in almost dark rooms with a low ceiling. These structures have been preserved for many years. His remains were preserved in golden funerary-chorten having on both sides' tombs of his two principal disciples. From the past 10 years reconstruction of this monastery is under way, but only the Lord knows how much time it will take to regain its past glory. Day 08: Trek and camp en-route

Today you will trek to Gyama Valley and trek to the bottom of Shuga-la for the overnight camp. The trek passes through the village of Hebu as you camp near Shuga-La on the meadow beside the Drogpa camp (Nomads). Overnight stay at camp

Day 09: Trek to Chitu-La

The trek passes the Shuga-La and camp before or after the Chitu-La depending upon the availability of the water and camp. 5-6 hours walk and overnight at Camp. Overnight stay at Tented Camp

Day 10: Trek to Samye via the way of Yamalung and the Nyengo settlement

Day 11: Morning tour of Samye monastery and drive to Tsedang

Samye Monastery, this was the first monastery established in Tibet, located on the north bank of Yarlung Tsangpo River, south east of Lhasa. It was constructed by Padmasambhava (Guru Ringboche) and Santarakshita between AD 763 and 775 in the reign of King Dristan Destin. The Samye monastery was modeled on the University of Odantapuri in India and was made on a plan representing the mount Sumeru (Rirab) which is considered the axis of universe. The four pagodas in white, blue, green and red represents the four worlds in the north, south, east and west of the universe, smaller temples represents the island between the worlds. The main temple is dedicated to Avalokiteshvara (Chenresi). Acccording to a legend, Padmasambhava magically compelled Tibetan demons to collect stones and wood each night for constuction by men during day. The Nagas (serpent deities) procured the funds. This famous monastery was the site of a major Buddhist council called "Council of Samye' held there in 792-794, Two learned teachers, one from India and the other from China participated in the debate. India was represented by Kamlasila and China by Hashang and in Samye for the sightseeing of the ancient Monastery and trek to the bank of Yarlung-Tsangpo (Bhramaputra River). After a relaxing day at Samye, two hours walk to the bank of the Yarlung-Tsangpo River. Here we board on the Ferry a barge like boat propelled by the motor engine 40 minutes of scenic float brings to the bank where our vehicle will be waiting on the Lhasa to Tsedang main highway. From here an hour and a half drive to Tshedang the growing city. Tshedang in the early century use to be the actual capital of the northern Tibetan Kingdom before it was shifted to Lhasa. Once back in the Hotel, time for leisure stroll around the town. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 12: Full day sightseeing in Tsedang

Today after breakfast you’ll visit the ancient fort, where the actual castle like palace of the earlier king of Tibet of this Kychui Valley still stands a short drive to the outskirt of the City. Once after the drive a steep 30 minutes walk up to the palace fort. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu

You will be transferred to airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Once you land in Kathmandu airport, you will be picked up from the airport and drop you to the hotel. Rest of the time will be at leisure. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1300m) and transfer to hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our staff, who will escort you to the hotel, where our Sherpa guide or the office staff will give you a brief orientation about the hotel, Kathmandu itself, trekking, and the do's and don’ts of the area. They will also review any additional information that you might require while in Nepal, including an overview of the next day's sightseeing tour. Day 02: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu valley

After your breakfast, you will precede to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will tour the ancient palace, the temple of the Kumari, the living goddess of Nepal, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandav Temple with a guide knowledgeable about Nepalese history, architecture, and religion. From there, you will proceed by taxi, bus to the Buddhist site, Swoyambhunath Stupa, also known as the "Monkey Temple" because of its lively troops of resident monkeys. You will then visit Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest shrine for Hindus, situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, a popular cremation site. Before returning to the hotel, you will visit Boudhnath Stupa, a Buddhist pilgrimage center and home to many colorful gompas, or monasteries. Once back at the hotel, you will receive a briefing about the trek and have a chance to meet your guides and ask any last minute questions before tomorrow morning's departure. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 03: Kathmandu to Nyalam (3650m) via Zhangmu (2300m) 07 Hrs

Today early morning 5.20 am we pick up you from your hotel and transfer to the bus station for your departure to Tibet journey. Approx. 05 hours drive to Kodari (near Tibet- China/Nepal border), drive passes through scenic countryside. After an hour drive stop at Dhulikhel for breakfast or for a short break. Another 4 hours drive brings you to the Nepal frontier at Kodari border which called Friendship Bridge. After going through immigration formalities (Nepal part) drive to Zhangmu, where after completion of immigration formalities (Chinese part). Zhangmu, is a busy town with mixed Chinese, Tibetan and Nepali people. From here drive leads on the winding road following the Bhote Koshi upstream through a beautiful forest of rhododendron, pines and hemlocks with overflowing waterfalls at places. After leaving the torrent river behind, the drive climbs towards Nyalam town, a small growing place where there is a meditation cave of the famed saint Milerappa just on the outskirt of the town. Day 04: Nyalam to Lahtse (4200m) 06 Hrs

From Nyalam, the drive continues passing through traditional Tibetan farm villages and fields of barley towards Lalung-la Pass (5,050m) with outstanding view of Mt. Shishapnagma (8013m highest within Tibet), Langtang towards west and Mt.Gaurishankar to the south east. After a brief stop at the pass for photographs, journey continues towards Shegar(Xegar) or New Tingri via a town of old Tingri, where you can have a good view of Mt. Everest (8,848m) on a clear fine day. Here at the roadside restaurant for a lunch or tea break. After Tingri an hour ride on the smooth highway reaches you at Xegar or New Tingri. Journey continues to the highest pass of this tour at Gyatsola 5,220 m after an hour and half drive from Shegar. The drive descends from here to Larze town situated on the route to Mt.Kailash. Overnight stay in Guesthouse/Lodge

Day 05: Lhatse to Shigatse (3900m) 02 Hrs

Today a short drive of three hours or less to Shigatse, drive continues on the newly improved tarmac Lhasa to Kathmandu or Friendship highway passing small passes of over 4,500m and farm fields and villages, then reaching at Shigase second biggest city in Tibet and the place of the famous Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama. Shigatse is also the capital of the province ‘Tsang’. The most interesting places here are Trashilumpo monastic complex and the ruined fortress which dominates the city’s skyline. A high wall surrounds the red and gold buildings which make up the Trashilumpo Monastery. The route around the wall circumambulates the monastery which also includes small shrines, significant rock inscriptions and many prayer wheels. A visit to the market concludes our stay at Shigatse. Overnight stay in Guesthouse/Lodge

Day 06: Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m) 02 Hrs

After visiting Tashilungpo Monastery and Shigatse bazaar, the drive continues to Gyantse, which is about two hours. Gyantse, later became the main centre for trade with British India. Gyantse is a small bustling town steeped in history. It lies in 261 kilometres southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyang - Chu River. In the 15th century it used to serve as a capital of a small kingdom. With time for a visit to Kumbum Chorten which was built in 1400 A.D. Overnight stay in Guesthouse/Lodge

Day 07: Gyantse to Lhasa (3,650m) 06 Hrs

A scenic drive of seven hours leads you to Lhasa crossing the Karo La Pass (5,010m) and Kamba La Pass (4,795m). The Karo La climbs between two lofty mountains, Nozing Khang SA (7,223m) and Ralung (6,236m). While driving you go alongside the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake). After passing Kamba La, Lhasa Valley is seen to the north. Check into Hotel at Lhasa. The accompanied guide will collect your airlines ticket for re-confirmation. As you arrive in Lhasa, you will have time to immerse yourselves in the crowd of colourful people and the Potala Palace one of the wonders of the world which dominates Lhasa and the Kyichu valley. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 08: Lhasa city sightseeing

At Lhasa the tour begins early (Beijing Standard Time which is 2 hours 15 minutes ahead of Nepal standard Time). The tour begins with a short drive to the famous Sera Monastery which is one of the important and old Monastery of Tibet as well a school for Tibetan Buddhism. This interesting tour will last for an hour or more visiting prayer rooms and the Tibetan scroll printing just outside from the Monastery premises. The Jorkhang Temple is situated at the center of Barkhor Market square which is another interesting place to visit as Jorkhang boasts a lot of historic importance and tales. It is the foundation and the pillar for Buddhism in Tibet. It offers a grand view of Barkhor square and of Potala palace from its rooftop. After a great time here visit the arkhor Market and mingle with the crowd of pilgrims from all parts of Tibet. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 09: Lhasa city sightseeing

Tour of Potala Palace,located towards west part of the old city of Lhasa and was originally built during the 640 A.D. during the reign of King Songtsan Gampo. The 13 storied palaces stand 117.19m high with 1000 rooms, big and small. The entire building is made of stone and wood with walls averaging 3 meters thick and the thickest 5 meters or even more. Potala Palace is divided in two parts,The Red Palace and the white Palace, the former consisting of the Dalai Lamas' tomb stupas and various chapels, the latter being both the Dalai Lama's residence and the halls for official activities. The Potala Palace with its lofty and magnificent halls and its brilliant gold-gilded pinnacle demonstrate the high accomplishments of the Tibetan people and reflect their unique style of architecture, painting, sculpture and other forms of religious expression. Afternoon tour to Drepung Monastery just west of Lhasa, drive passes through the suburb of the city and uphill through the peach and plum groves. Drepung meaning "heaps of rice", looks as if from the distance with its white lime paint over the Monastery. It is the largest of all Monasteries in Tibet. There used to be over 10,000 monks but at present fewer. The unusually magnificent Drepung Monastery was built in a very large scale. Inside it one can see vestibules criss-crossing as if in a great walled city. Before the construction of Potala Palace, the Drepung Monastery was the residence of successive Dalai Lamas. In1642, the 5th Dalai Lama formed Gadeng Pochang,the Tibetan local Government in the monastery marking the real beginning of the theocracy when religion joined in with politics. After the Dalai Lama moved his residence to the Potala Palace, it still remained the biggest and most powerful among the three large monasteries in Lhasa. After a good time visiting nearly every interesting rooms of Drepung Monastery drive back to the Hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu

After breakfast early morning we drive for 2 hours to the Gonggar Airport. An hour scenic flight back to Kathmandu over the majestic Himalayan range with the spectacular view of Everest, Makalu and some of its adjoining peaks.
